Hamilton Beach 6 Slice Digital Toaster Oven

The Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven With Convection and Rotisserie 31104D gives you plenty of room for baking, roasting, toasting, and more. It does eat quite a bit of counter space, but the rotisserie function makes it worth its real estate. Hamilton Beach’s new version of the Toastation is the 2-in-1 Countertop Oven and Toaster. It has the same great dual functionality as my old Toastation, but it’s even better.

The door doesn’t close automatically until the door is a few inches from closing, and in fact, it can be left ajar when it’s about 2 inches from being closed. It can, however, free-fall downward when it’s open about 5 inches. If there’s counter space in front of it, the handle would hit the counter.

Hamilton Beach’s Toaster Oven took more than an hour to broil chicken breasts, can only accommodate four slices of bread — despite manufacturer claims that it can hold six. Still, this unit toasts quickly, does a good job at baking potatoes, and can roast a six-pound chicken. It’s also affordable and easy to use, thanks to its excellent manual. Coupled with a thirty minute timer, the toaster oven shuts itself off at the end of its cooking time.

The feature we liked the most was the oven’s roll-top opening which not only frees up counter space, but also gives the Easy Reach its name. Most toaster ovens either swing open to the side, like a microwave, or swing down, like a conventional oven. This exposes more than two-thirds of the interior oven, much like an outdoor BBQ grill. The size of your toaster is another big differentiator and something to carefully consider.

Your actual savings will vary based on use, and will likely be a lot less than $40. After all, most people who own toaster ovens will continue to use their full-size oven sometimes, if not most of the time, and hardly any of us will stop using our ovens altogether. Figure out what size you’ll need so you don’t waste precious counter space. If you enjoy using your main oven for most baking, broiling and roasting then stick to a smaller unit. If you want a countertop oven you really cook with, consider spending a bit more on a bigger unit.

Browse through a large collection of toaster oven and find the right pick for you. You won’t find a design like the Hamilton Beach Easy Reach Toaster Oven with Roll-Top Door anywhere else. And since the door opens above the oven, it frees up your countertop hamilton beach toaster oven space in front. Best of all, it’s easy to keep clean because food can’t spill on the door. With a 6 slice toast capacity and four cooking settings, you can enjoy everything from crispy toast, broiled fish and mouthwatering roasted vegetables.

It’s much cheaper than any other toaster oven we tested — considerably less so than our winning toaster oven, the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro. However, the performance is a little hit and miss, so be prepared for compromise. It’s nice to be able to adjust the rack position in your toaster oven to accommodate cookware of different sizes and make adjustments depending on what you’re cooking.

However, the back-left side of the oven routinely toasted a little lighter than the rest of the oven. Hamilton Beach’s Easy Reach Toaster Oven has a roomy interior, making it especially well-suited for warming up multiple snacks or cooking pizzas (up to 12 inches). Its convection heating makes for evenly browned bagels or muffins. It fits easily on any countertop, with a long cord that increases your options for placement.

I found the toaster ovens with digital displays easiest to program since you dial into your preferred level of doneness on a six- or seven-point scale rather than guesstimating with a timer knob. My favorite display was on Breville’s Mini Smart Oven, which was simple and easy to use with dials that accurately adjust the cooking time for both doneness and number of slices. This model also has an “a bit more” button and a cool-down mode to stop cooking hamilton beach faster. If you like the functionality of an old-school toaster but also want a mini oven for heating up leftovers and cooking smaller items, the 2-in-1 is perfect for that. I have teenagers, so the oven gets used a lot for cooking frozen pizza and entrees as well as breakfast fare like cinnamon bread and frozen waffles. The oven operates on a timer that you have to set past 10 minutes for it to start and it automatically shuts off after 60 minutes.

The buttons would often not react and required a forceful push, sometimes two. The super-cheap Comfee Toaster has manual dials and no display. Manual dials are difficult to set accurately both for temperature and time.
