Weber Q 2200 Gas Grill Review: Worth the Hype

Once the grill cooled, I was able to easily pry off food and build up on the cooking grates. The porcelain coated cast iron grates made this a breeze to do. Like any gas grill, the Weber Q 2200 needs to be cleaned after each use, but it’s incredibly easy to do.

The Weber Traveler is a new portable gas grill that is a legitimate alternative to the series. The Traveler is large, but highly portable, and packs serious searing power. It has enough of cooking space for a small family and its temperatures are high enough to tackle almost any kind of BBQing that you can imagine. It is also really easy to use and a lot of fun to work with as well. This portable grill is far from cheap but I would argue that you are investing in the Weber brand and this is certainly worth the extra cash. It isn’t just about the features and how well the grill works – just take a look at the quality of the components.

He packed up the grill in the bed of his truck, and while he was surprised at its weight—which is more than 40 pounds—he really liked that it felt sturdy and durable. Using the grill, he was able to cook easily for himself and four coworkers, and they all agreed that the burgers and hot dogs came out great. Unequivocally, the Weber Q 1200 is a fantastic portable grill, taking the top spot as our favorite. However, it is relatively expensive compared to other top models we tested. In particular, the Cuisinart Grillster produces a ton of power for a gas grill, and is offered at a phenomenal price. The infrared Solaire Everywhere also packs a punch for its size, and should be on the radar of any meat griller.

I docked one star from the Q 100’s portability because of its odd shape which made it difficult to pack around in a vehicle. I really like all of the weber genesis 2 grills, and the Weber Q 100 is certainly not a bad choice. The entire line has received more positive reviews compared to negative than any other line of grills, which tells you just how happy the majority of owners are. Even many of those who have minor complaints about the grill often also state that they are being overly picky. While I didn’t have one single issue, I have read a few complaints regarding regulator failure.

The Q series from Weber is versatile enough to cook just about anything you can think of. As with all Weber BBQs, you need weber q to cook with the lid on for best results. Wirecutter is the product recommendation service from The New York Times.
