The new Genesis E-335 provides some quality upgrades over the last version of this grill. Gone is the 9,000 BTU sear station and in is the larger 13,000 BTU sear station. Weber has also added extra storage with the grill locker, perfect portable bbq for storing any unused CRAFTED grill items and larger grill tools. All the wheels are now swivel casters making it easier to move your grill, while two of the casters have locks to keep your grill stationary while grilling.
A few days later, when it was warmer and less breezy, I tried again. It took took 20 minutes post preheat, but I finally hit my 225 degree benchmark using just the left burner. weber q More than that, though, was too much to ask of just one burner. Two burners could reach higher temps quickly, leaving just a third of the grill available for indirect grilling.
It came out pleasingly caramelized yet not overdone in the center. The side tables and the lid of the grill are made from heavy stainless steel, while the cooking grates are cast iron. Sad, but true, 2016 is the last model year in which all Weber Genesis grills can say, “Made in the United States of America with globally sourced parts and components”. The 2017 model year marks the beginning of Genesis II gas grills being made in China, just like Spirit gas grills have been over the past few years.
On the Genesis there is an option to smoke your food using a smoker box accessory. You can set the smoker box on top of your grills and fill with a range of wood flavours to add a delicious smoke weber q flavour to a range of cooks. We were very happy to have our second genesis, bought 10 months ago but seldom used last summer due to the smoke from the bush fires which kept us inside a lot.
