When the Spirit II grills came out in 2018 they were available in an amazing array of colors such as Crimson, Ivory and Sapphire. Those colors, which were widely popular, are no longer available and you can only buy one of these grills in Black. It is my belief that Weber is going to discontinue the Spirit II grills and is in the process of clearing them out of inventory. Both grills receive an overwhelmingly positive response from their owners. If a burner seems to be running cool or creates patchy flames, use a thin piece of wire (many grills come with one attached to a chain) to clean out the gas ports (the little holes in the burner). There’s nothing inside the burners to break, so don’t feel like you have to be delicate. Wirecutter editor Signe Brewster bought the Weber Spirit II E-310 in 2019. Additionally, propane tanks are inexpensive, reusable, and available at most hardware and big-box stores. A grill that is both durable and easy to repair creates much less waste than a cheapo grill that ends up in the garbage. We chose grills with fireboxes made of cast aluminum because the firebox is a major part of the grill, it’s difficult Blackstone Adventure to replace, and aluminum is resistant to rust and corrosion. Cheaper grills have thin enameled steel fireboxes that are prone to damage and holes from rust. Once your grill has a rusty hole in the firebox, it’s destined for the scrap heap. Since the Spirit II E-210 has only two burners, indirect cooking may present a bit of a challenge.

If you’re an occasional griller or you enjoy getting hands-on with your cooking, charcoal is an economical choice that, with a bit of practice, produces great results. The smart grilling technology used in Weber’s Smart Grills keeps you connected with your food whether you’re at the store or busy in another part of your home. While the Weber Spirit II E-310 is Weber’s entry-level gas grill, it packs a lot of punch performance-wise and was our best-reviewed gas grill for putting gorgeous sear marks on burgers. It’ll also thoroughly cook your chicken and create picture-perfect asparagus spears.

As I already mentioned, the three burners aren’t up to most gas grills standards, but it will still do for a small to mid-sized family. That being said, there is ample cooking space here – it is on par even with more expensive brands. Weber’s other new addition to the Spirit line, the Spirit SP-335, is basically the S-315 with a built-in side burner and a dedicated high-heat Blackstone Adventure searing area on the grill. We don’t recommend grills with side burners because we don’t think that extra feature is worth the $100-plus markup. We think you’re better off saving over $200 with the Spirit II E-310. If you want to splurge on a grill with exceptional temperature control and a dedicated searing zone, go for our upgrade pick, the Weber Genesis II E-325s, instead.

So, if you are looking for bells and whistles then you may want to check out other gas grills. With many other makes and models, it isn’t always so easy to set up such zones. They cooked fast at two minutes per side, although the front row needed an additional minute. We’d prefer overall, even heat from the front to the back of the grill, but we appreciated how quickly and easily Spirit II cooked this popular item. The burgers were remarkably juicy, perhaps due to the fast cook time. When the Spirit II grills were released Weber added three of the GS4 upgrades but did not include the newly designed burners. Of the three upgrades that do come with the GS4 the most important is the more reliable ignition system.
