That being said, the folding tables and the hood thermometer are more than enough additions to this grill. What’s even more impressive than this feature is the fact that it is actually responsive. The 2200 Gas Grill makes it easy and convenient to grill on the go, but it’s spacious enough for everyday home use, as well. So, once again – if more portability and a lighter weight are top considerations for you, then the Q1200 would be the way to go.
The Traveler is sleeker than the Q series with a lower profile lid. When I put these grills side by side and asked my daughter which she liked better it took her less than a second to point towards the Traveler. If you were just to look at the grates and burner on a Traveler and the similarly sized Weber Q2200 then you would be hard pressed to find any meaningful differences. The Weber Q 2200 has the same features as the Q 2000, but also has the additional feature of the built-in thermometer.
When I checked on the grill five minutes later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lid thermometer already read 400 degrees. That was hot enough for my needs, so I put my burger on the grill and let it cook. The meat was cooked to perfection in around 10 minutes, and I was really impressed at the heat put out by the grill’s 12,000 BTU burner. Similar to the Q1000, it even has 189 square inches of cooking space and has dimensions of 15.5×40.9×1.5 inches, with the lids closed. The grill is small enough to take it with you for picnics but large enough to support a small group.
