Ozark Trail Base Camp 14-Person Cabin Tent Review 20 x 20 Feet
It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes). But unfortunately, because I’m not tall (I’m 5’3″), I couldn’t get the rainfly ozark trail tents up on my own, and that’s where I got stuck. We made the mistake of putting up the tent in a rain path and not only did the tent hold up we stayed dry!
I would like a response to this please and I do expect some compensation of some kind! Every time we put some faith in these tents we got let down. I must say that nothing is waterproof, water resistant is a better term.
This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent can accommodate 10 single sleeping pads or sleeping bags, and here’s what having 10 pads in this 10-person tent looks like. Because it’s ridiculously inexpensive, the quality, design and weather protection isn’t the best, though I think it’ll work decently in summer (without rain, of course). ozark tent I know we didn’t pay a lot for it at Wal-mart but I thought we would get more than one time use. I have used the tent 5 times ever since I got it as a birthday present the 12th of June. It was sooo fast to put up and take down, not one problem, it rained 1 time and I didn’t get one drop on me everything was dry.
Certain brands are tailored towards certain camping styles, depending on how many people you want to bring. Although Ozark Trail offers tents in the two to five-person sizes, their bread & butter are the larger sizes. If you find a brand that specializes in the size you want, you’re likely to end up with a great product.
The Ozark Trail 10-Person Tunnel Tent with Vestibule is perfect for a large crew looking to get away from it all. Ft. tent easily fits 4 queen-size airbeds or 10 sleeping bags. An extra-large vestibule can be used to store gear, provide shade or as a hang-out area in inclement weather. 1200mm coatings and taped fly seams provide excellent weather protection. A room divider provides the privacy of 2 rooms or can be removed to create one large living space. Large mesh side walls and 3 windows maximize cross ventilation and the rain fly adjusts to meet your airflow and star-gazing needs.
The phrasing that Ozark Trail uses is “water-resistant.” In my experience with the tent, that means in any serious rain, expect to see some moisture leaking through at least the seams. The bottom seam gives water a place to pool up and eventually leak into the tent. A good rule of thumb for family tents is to remember that when the manufacture says there’s space for 7, it’s more accurately a 6-man tent.
Is it for a large family or just used short camping trips? If you’re going to use air mattresses, be sure it fits your size of mattress (most tents can fit a queen size air mattress). For cons, there’s only 1 door in the entire 10-person tent, there’s almost no ventilation at all when it’s raining, and it also leaks within just 15 minutes of light rain.
Again, ozark trail tents are mainly fair weather camping tents (so you won’t be hiking into the backcountry with them) which means weight and packed size aren’t a big priority. This isn’t an instant tent, but ease of use is still a high point of this model thanks to the simple setup. Just slide the roof poles into place, then plug the side and corner poles into their designated hubs and raise it all up. Two people can get this cabin set up in about five minutes, but setting the 2 Room Cabin up solo isn’t out of the question either. This Ozark Trail 12-Person Cabin Tent with Screen Porch and 2 Entrances provides plenty of room for a large family or group camp outing.
