Ozark Trail 7-Person 2-in-1 Screen House Connect Tent with 2 Doors, Canopy Sold Separately

It’s a great way of making camping culture a little more affordable and accessible for anyone interested in trying it out. Weighing in at a hearty 15 lbs, chances are you won’t be hiking anywhere with the Ozark Trail 7 Person Teepee. Anywhere with pull-up vehicle access and nearby amenities would be perfect for this style of shelter. You need to put about a dozen stakes in the ground to set it up, and that can be an issue in rocky areas or where the soil is too loose. However, in good conditions, two people can expect to have the tent completely set up in approximately ten minutes. On that note, I can imagine very few circumstances in which 7 people could comfortably share this tent.

You’ll want to give the entire tent a thorough Nikwax treatment before taking it on the road. Second, the fabric feels thin, and a few users have reported ripping it during setup, so you’ll need to take your time both setting up and taking down this tent. So yes, the Ozark Trail is an absolute steal of a deal if you’re into the bell tent design, but there are a few shortcomings you’ll want to be aware of if you’re considering it.

The rounded sides make this tent well suited to withstand strong winds. But at only 17.6 lbs this is one of the lighter tents that can fit an entire family. Setup may take a bit longer, but that’s ok, you’ll benefit from the extra space in your car. Not only that, but the dome tent will keep you safe from the elements better than any cabin tent out there.

On the other hand, there are more affordable tents that will go a long, long way for you. Tent brands usually make the same decisions across all their tents. They form the corners the same way and attach everything the same way, too. If they get it right with one tent, it’s likely all of their tents have great weather protection.

You will see it in some videos described as a cabin tent. In fact, this is a tent with fiberglass poles which create a typical dome structure ozark trail tents extended on both sides. So this is an extended-dome style tent in the true sense as you can realize from the picture below.

There’s no dark room technology though, and it’s quite bright throughout the day. On top of that, there’s also no zip down the middle of the divider for easy access into either room. To get into the other room, you’d have to remove the divider and then put it back up.

Some 1-person tents will have two major spars or spines that cross for the main support structure. In the Ozark Trail tent, it has only one spar traveling down the center lengthwise with a single rib to open up the area in the middle. The four or six tent pegs hold the structure down but are crucial ozark trail canopy for the tent to stand by itself. The Ozark does need those pegs in the ground to be self-standing so setting up on rocks would be infeasible (at least without applying some clever tenting skills). There are some tent brands that charge an arm and a leg, but still provide a poor camping experience.
