Should I report this as a fraudulent transaction to my credit card company. To learn more about the Dyson 360 Vis Nav™ robotic vacuum, the unique Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) technology, including dust detection, obstacle avoidance and wall detection, visit the Future of clean article. From Tokyo, Japan, James Dyson unveiled the next generation of intelligent robotic vacuum cleaners – the Dyson 360 Vis Nav™ robotic vacuum. There is just not enough battery life here to finish cleaning a large family home in one go.

Most robots produced today can vacuum, mop, and take care of minor maintenance tasks such as emptying dustbins and cleaning their mopheads. But no matter how fancy the robot, it’ll eventually stop working and need to be replaced. Many robot vacuums struggle when it comes to cleaning under furniture, behind couches, or between the legs of chairs. The K10+ aims to eliminate those issues, with a diameter of just 248 millimeters. Compared to the 340 millimeters of the SwitchBot S1 Plus, that’s some impressive downsizing.

In fact, the round-shaped, dust canister makes a great design feature. I was surprised to see such a small container holding so much grime in just one cleaning session. But it was so easy to empty out into the trash can by simply pushing the release button to open the bottom lid. This is just a matter of personal preference (and my laziness), but it doesn’t have self-emptying, self-cleaning or mop capabilities. It’s certainly something to consider when justifying the eye-watering price of the Dyson Vis Nav.

The company didn’t provide any more details, such as bin size, battery size, or any info on software features such as mapping or keep-out zones. You shark cordless can sign up for updates on the new products at Dyson’s website. There are, however, other issues to consider when it comes to robotic vacuums.

We’ve had to wait three years for Dyson’s new robot vacuum cleaner to be researched, developed, engineered, manufactured and tested – and fortunately, I think it’s been worth the wait. Meanwhile, the Dyson Submarine is the company’s first ever wet vacuum cleaner. It has a wet roller head that attaches irobot vacuum cleaner to the new V15s Detect Submarine and V12s Slim submarine vacuums (but not any older models). It can not only remove dust and stains from hard floors, but even handle spills like ketchup. Finally, Dyson has introduced the Big+quiet Formaldehyde, a new air purifier designed for large homes.

The 360 Vis NavTM is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant and can be controlled through voice commands. You can customise your clean through defining zones around your home and choosing how and when your robot cleans them by setting times, days and power mode. You can also set rules and routines, such as switching off the brush bar motor for quiet spaces and deep-pile rugs, defining no-climb zones, or setting areas to avoid altogether. Once finished, the My DysonTM app will display a cleaning report – showing scientific proof of a deep clean, where your robot has cleaned and how much dust it has picked up. Finally, the MyDysonTM app ensures your robot will always have the latest functionalities and features through automatic software updates over WIFI.

I will have to agree with that number as I managed to get 47 minutes on Auto mode before it headed back to its dock for some time at the mains. Dyson has mentioned that it’s best to register the device so these updates can be rolled out automatically, making the app a necessity. I imagine this service will be available in other markets when the robovac appears on shelves elsewhere.

It can purify air over a 32 foot range, removing pollutants (including formaldehyde, of course), dust and more. Dyson cordless vacuum technology uses acoustic piezo sensors to count and categorise dust particles, informing owners via LCD screen when to move on, or continue cleaning. These readings also determine the suction power required for the task, automatically adjusting power levels.
