Dysons next robot vacuum cleaner revealed in FCC filings with new design

In order for the navigation to work even in poor lighting conditions, such as in darkened rooms or under a bed or other furniture, an LED light ring around the camera lights up. In fact, it’s the first time I’ve actually wanted to buy a “robot” appliance – I don’t want to talk to my speaker, I don’t need my coffee machine to ping my phone when it needs descaled, but a vacuum that can clean by itself? Despite the mentioned issues, I remain impressed with the Dyson 360 Vis Nav’s overall performance. Incorporating the suggested improvements would elevate it to an even more reliable and user-friendly robot vacuum cleaner. There’s no doubt that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav does an excellent job vacuuming.

The triple action is also engineered with a wide diameter to reduce hair tangling. Sucks up more than any other robot across all floors and intelligently cleans with 360° visual navigation. With that in mind, I naturally had high expectations for the manufacturer’s brand-new robot vacuum cleaner, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav. It sounds like the new Dyson roomba robot vacuum will be plenty smart. In all, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav advanced processor operates 26 different sensors that monitor everything from dust detection to obstacle avoidance. We know there are many frustrations with current robot vacuum cleaners – some have low suction power, or inefficient navigation systems which that they often get stuck and don’t do a proper job of vacuuming.

There is absolutely no loss of suction as the battery drains, which is typical of any Dyson cordless handstick as well. The top of the Vis Nav is a 360º camera to allow for visual navigation as opposed to the lidar sensors most other robovacs use. When it’s in a dimly-lit room or under a bed, a light comes on to help it make its way around a home without bumping into anything. That said, it does have a tendency to bump into slightly reflective objects, like a large green glass vase I had on the floor of my test space. As impressive as the bar brush is, I’m in love with the side duct. This little red tongue sticks out automatically when the Vis Nav gets close to a room’s edge or senses furniture legs, then retracts when it’s not needed.

Its decreased diameter makes it easy for the robot to navigate in confined spaces (such as under a desk or coffee table) without getting stuck and needing to be rescued. Unlike some manufacturers, Dyson doesn’t measure Pascals for its vacuums. The 360 Vis Nav produces 65AW and 110,000 rpm — which allows it to clean carpets better than most other robot vacuums. There’s also a side duct that can redirect suction to the side of its D-shaped body to better clean edges and crevices.

There’s a triple-action brush bar – which sounds like something that would send dairy cows into a lather of excitement, but apparently it’s just some vacuuming thing, so you may have to let Daisy down gently. Three years is a long time in consumer tech and the Dyson 360 Vis Nav is evidently a big step up from the 360 Heurist. But despite those big claims about suction power, I’ll remain sceptical until I see the proof in my carpets. That motor spins at up to 110,000rpm to deliver an impressive sweep across your floors.

The Dyson 360 Eye was first, debuting in the US in 2016 after appearing in Japan a year before. It received mostly decent reviews but had a tough-to-swallow $1,000+ price tag and lasted a few years before being unceremoniously discontinued. Dyson’s 360 Eye robot vacuum cleaner, released in 2016, has been 17 years in the making. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is one of the most expensive robot vacuums available, and it comes with irobot vacuum cleaner a few impressive features you won’t find on other models with lower price tags. However, the Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni has established itself as one of the best robot vacuums, thanks to its ability to vacuum, mop, empty its dustbin, and clean itself after each session. If you mostly plan to use it in Auto mode, though, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav is arguably the best robot vacuum cleaner I’ve tested in terms of dirt pick-up.
