Dump some cans of stuff together and simmer. But my husband got me this Cuisinart for Christmas because he thought the concept was awesome. So I smiled and said Thanks and had him put it on the counter. A couple of weeks later I felt like I should use it. None of the soups in the book it came with appealed to me.
The high function is particularly impressive, with the boiling motion helping to agitate the soup’s ingredients. The Soup Maker itself stayed steady on the worktop, with a few streams of steam emerging from the lid. It’s also very quiet during operation, only beeping when the timer’s finished counting down. I notice that there is a LOT of baby food makers on the market that cost more than a soup maker and don’t produce as much food for your baby. We were with child again and this time we were looking for just a quick cheap one for mainly blending baby food with.
Within about a 40 minute time frame (from start to finish), I had an incredibly flavorful and unbelievably silky smooth Spiced Carrot Soup that would be luscious enough to serve to company. It was garnished with crispy Prosciutto, a dollop of Greek Yogurt and some snipped cilantro. The Scotch broth was thoroughly cooked, including the pearl barley, after about half an hour. After a quick blitz on level 2 – levels 3 and 4 are deactivated if the contents are over 60 degrees C – the soup was consistently creamy but still retained some texture and bite.
Durability
Really it’s hard to rate this because it hasn’t gotten any more use out of me since it is so bad. The Cuisinart SSB1U Soup Maker will brown and sweat vegetables, boil liquids and simmer soups, allowing you to prepare perfect soups and sauces all in one unit, saving time and washing up. Making a soup is as simple as browning the vegetables in the blender, adding the stock and whizzing it up.
Size-wise, they’re analogous to blenders, though some can be a bit bigger. Around 1.2 to 1.6 litres tends to be capacity, so opt for a bigger model if you’re making dinner for a family; smaller if going solo. The Soup Maker has a wealth of inspired design features that mean making soup is easy as well as safe. As you can’t blend while heating like many soup makers which offer a smooth setting, it does mean you need to chop vegetables well to ensure you end up with a smooth consistency.
Put a little soapy water in, turn it on and rinse. We have made smoothies several times since. My husband actually snuck some spinach in a smoothie (a concept I have Strongly resisted) and I didn’t notice any change to texture. Ease of Use
A few buttons to push but nothing too complicated.
In this review, we focus on the key features and functions of Cuisinart’s SSB1U Soup Maker (available in the UK) and their SBC-1000 model (available in the US and in Canada). Meanwhile, in a and blender over low heat, warm the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook, using the stir function occasionally, until just tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Increase the heat to medium, add the carrots and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the curry powder, salt and pepper and cook, using the stir function occasionally, until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes.
They are enjoying the coastal lifestyle with their Tibetan Terrier, Rhythm.
