We believe that the E2i system is the most superior ignition system Weber has ever created. Below is an up-close picture taken after we dismantled one of the Weber II grills to its most basic components. Uniquely tapered burner tubes provide consistent pressure, including alignment from front to back, which provides a more consistent flame and even heat profile.
Apps and Bluetooth connections can be great additions to cooking hardware, but in cases like this, they also get in the way. The iGrill 2 has an easy-to-read LED on its base that displays temperature; having no readout on the iGrill 3 is straight-up dumb. But after more rigorous testing, the grill proved to have some serious weaknesses.

A properly fitted barbecue cover will help you keep your grill in tip-top shape for years by shielding it from rain and snow. For example, if you like roasts and other large cuts, investing in the iGrill 3 digital thermometer makes total sense. Over on the Better Business Bureau site, they’re rated A+, and the few negative reviews are mainly from complainers who could probably never be made happy, anyway.
The Sear Station burner is located inside the body of the grill and gives you the extra searing power you need to properly cook a steak over scorching high heat. I am a massive fan of the Sear Station and believe you will like the feature as well. Lighting with match sticks can be tricky and is not full-proof. The Weber weber genesis 2 Genesis II E-310 uses a push-button electric ignition powered by AA batteries. However, you will still need to take caution whenever you use it because it is a propane grill. Two large wheels on one side and two locking swivel casters on the other make it easy to move the grill to different parts of the patio or deck.
These grills have a slot on the right side table that is designed to accept Weber’s iGrill3 remote temperature monitoring system. While these grills are iGrill3 compatible they do not come with the iGrill3 module. I absolutely love the 10 year all inclusive warranty on these grills. I have had to make two warranty claims on my Weber products in the past 5 years and Weber was always amazingly quick to send me replacement parts for free. Gas grills are often favored because they are clean and easy to use. There’s charcoal or wood to load and get your hands dirty with.
I nudged up the heat, trying to get up to a steady 325 degrees on the indirect side, but it needed constant adjustment to get anywhere close to consistent temperature. With two of three burners going on a windy (but not that windy) day, this is a big flop. At $1,300, the six-burner Weber Genesis II E-610 grill has the largest cooking surface of the E-series grills, with room for 28 burgers or more. This is the most expensive in this series, and yet the others in this group performed slightly better overall. So if you aren’t cooking for a baseball team, you might want to consider a smaller model.
