Review: Weber Genesis II LX Grill

That being said, I do like that in addition to the 3 main burners, it has a side burner as well. This allows me to cook different kinds of food at a separate temperature all at once. The sear station on the Weber Genesis II S 345 is a nice touch as well. On the other side of the size spectrum, the new Genesis series features grills with four and six burners for those who like to do some serious grilling. Weber Genesis II entry models feature either an open storage are or a closed one. The baseline features are 3 burners with each 13,000 BTU cooking power.

If you have a large party the extra space and cooking power will be handy. If steaks and chops worthy of Instagram are your thing, you’ll want the sear grill, with the sought-after diamond pattern built-in for no-fail grill marks. Weber has a deservedly good reputation for backing up their products (10-year warranty — hello!) and offering support to their customers. With 230 reviews on the Consumer Affairs website, they’ve got a 4-out-of-5 rating.

It came out pleasingly caramelized yet not overdone in the center. This brings us to the LX grill with the largest cooking surface, the six-burner Weber Genesis II LX S-640. It costs $2,000 and scores almost as well as the four-burner model above, although its temperature range wasn’t as wide. At 6 feet long, it takes up about as much space as a couch. The “S” and “SX” 335 grills also have cooking grates made from stainless steel rods but, while they are both excellent, they are made from 7 mm rods instead of 9mm.

Use stainless steel cleaner on any appropriate spots on the exterior (such as the shelves) to keep them looking their best. Warm, soapy water is your best bet for plastic and enameled parts. Well, I suppose it’s true that you can get the job done with the most basic equipment. But, if you genuinely weber charcoal grill value the experience of grilling AND you like food that tastes delicious, you’ll want something a little better. There are two differences between the “E” and “SE” versions of the 335. The SE has a handle mounted grill light and a stainless steel grate made on 9 mm stainless steel rods.

Part of your regular maintenance routine will be emptying the grease pan. The open cart makes it easy to access this pan, and if there’s any build-up, just remove it with a plastic scraper. If you’re used to the empty soup tin hanging under the firebox, this will seem revolutionary. Like most gas grills, the Genesis II E-310 scores big in this category. All these parts are high-end, featuring superior construction and functionality.

One component that you don’t really find with many models out there but that is available with this one is the lighted control knobs. Also, please note that Weber simplified the Genesis line up getting rid of the redundant LX series as well as the 2 and 6 burner models. With those weber q weaknesses and—–have a seat—–the $1,400 price tag on the three-burner model, I just can’t recommend it. Results might vary slightly between the two-, four-, or six-burner models, but even still, it’s just too much money to spend on something so surprisingly underpowered.
