Finally, the material of this shelter is noticeably higher quality than many Ozark Trail tents, but the 68D polyester is still not as thick as we’d like. Layout wise is virtually identical to the Core Instant Cabin we evaluated for our 10 person tent roundup, but delivers those same massive interior dimensions for about $100 less. Each of the cabin’s three rooms includes its own privacy divider, and each is large enough to fit a queen-sized mattress as well, so it’s a great option for large groups or families. This screened-in shelter also gets high points for its price, which is always a selling point with an Ozark Trail tent, but this one represents a particularly good value considering all its features.
Fire Treated Canvas – Fire treatment disallows the spread of an open flame. Required on all tents shipped to New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, California, Louisiana and Canada. The tent is also very tall with its peak height of 86 inches (218 cm), so this is a good reason to include it in my list of very tall family camping tents. Wall tents may be the most practical tent style in some regards and not so much in others. They are practical shelters in almost every way but not so practical to transport on foot. Poly-cotton canvas is a blend of polyester and cotton, which is kind of like a hybrid that aims to take the best of both worlds.
Not sure what season our tents were but, we had to get 4 of them. The first time I got it set up was about that same day. I’m going to Coleman for now on because you are incapable of making a zipper that doesn’t break so damn easy on the door. They arguably provide the most headspace of all tents, so for events where people are standing up and chatting or dancing, there is nothing better.
