I have all the good reasons to include it to my list of best screen houses for camping. I purchased this tent to take to music festivals and such, because it is like a small house. One day into a 3-day festival, I returned to camp to find both of the large poles snapped right in two. I must say that nothing is waterproof, water resistant is a better term.

But for real camping I see it as a system for up to 5 users, ideal for parents with 2-3 kids, and also for two couples. The biggest issue in all of this is the inability to withstand any rotational pressure during medium and high impact weather conditions as the joints become unstable and collapse at the mid points. In windy conditions high stress is applied to each side and the frame begins to break down at the unreinforced joint connectors. The Instant Dome Tent has some pretty neat features besides its easy peasy setup. It has two windows and an adjustable ground vent to keep the tent cool and comfortable. It also has a small opening in the back for electrical cord access and an overhead storage loft for flashlights and other essentials.
All seams are sealed, and it includes a rainfly that keeps you protected when inside. The large windows provide you with lots of light and air during the day while the front awning provides shade. The Ozark Trail 4 Person Instant Dome Tent is an excellent choice for families and novice campers.
I think I will go shopping this week for another tent that I feel better about. Otherwise I like the tent but do not trust it to hold up in severe conditions. The easiest models to pitch are pretty much always “instant tent” shelters, which use a system of preattached poles than only need to be unfolded and locked into place.
This Ozark Trail cabin tent is a 10-person cabin design, featuring two rooms and measures a total of 168 by 120 by 86 inches. It can fit two queen-sized airbeds with a center height of 86 inches. The Ozark Trail ten-person tent feels very roomy, with six different windows and a completely open mesh top for you to get breeze and stargaze at night. Luckily, there is a rain fly that covers everything and even gives you a bit of an overhang on the main entrance, providing some protection from sunlight.
A center height of 78 inches makes this a great choice for taller people, as any good cabin tent should. But at only 17.6 lbs this is one of the lighter tents that can fit an entire family. Setup may take a bit longer, but that’s ok, you’ll benefit from the extra space in your car.
