This is where it would usually flip inside out, if the wind is strong enough, and it can damage the frame. We think this is the biggest standout in relation to how different this model is to others on the market. Most versions at this price will stick to the really simple designs, with a complete lack of add-ons. While this model isn’t anything Ozark Trail Canopies ground-breaking by any means, it’s still not oversimplified, and the vents are a prime example of that. It’s not super heavy because of the soft top, and that also seems to be a main reason for why its price is so reasonable. Based on the high brand reputation and the overall quality of materials, this looks like a trustworthy choice.
This cooler is not only smaller in its overall size but also a fraction of the price of the competition. Like the Ozark Trail 45 Qt Rolling Thermocooler, the Pelican 45QW Elite Wheeled Cooler includes a lid with inch notches and also includes centimeters for those outside of the United States. Similar to the Ozark Trail cooler, the Pelican features orange wheel rims and also has orange clasp accents. You can get this cooler in three colors, Tan which is featured here, as well as graphite and white. The other two colors will have different rims and accents, so if you don’t love the orange you have options. Although you might think that you can’t get overheated underneath an already open structure, if lots of people are standing inside and if the outside temperature is boiling then things can get hot.
The coolers in competition were the Ozark Trail 45QT Rolling Thermocooler, The Pelican 45QW Elite Wheeled Cooler, and the Yeti Tundra Haul. I chose these coolers because they were the closest among the brands when it came to internal storage. The feet areas of the legs are also something to mention, as they are shaped like pads instead of a simple pole.
We don’t find that to be a noteworthy drawback as the nylon handles and shoulder strap work just fine in carrying the tent. The legs are locked into place with old school metal push button locks, something you won’t see on many modern pop up tents now-a-days. These push locks get very difficult to use over time, especially if the tent is used on the beach and exposed to sand and saltwater, causing rust build up. Many newer tent brands like EZ-Up use revolutionary thumb lock sliders or larger easy to release buttons, which are a much better user experience when setting the canopy up or taking it down.
Once the lids are placed on to the Tumblers you can see a bit more in relation to how they work. With the locking lid, there appears to be more heat transference than the open mouth lid. Even with the locking lid absorbing more heat, it does provide a few degrees more heat retention over time.
You’re also getting 3 height options, so you’re not limited in the elevation that you need. As an avid outdoorsman, I can say from experience that a hot drink on a cold morning or a cold drink in the blazing heat of a midsummer day is a creature comfort that I can’t live without. I am not only an avid coffee drinker, but I am also the former co-owner of a coffee roasting company, so when I say I take coffee seriously I absolutely mean it.
Every so often a brand will fly under the radar producing products that are not only a great value but also great quality as well. This model follows a simple 3 step process, which is common among many instant Ozark Trail Camping Chairs editions. It’s a matter of unpacking, unfolding, and extending the legs to your desired height. There’s no complicated insertion of poles and we love how it’s well-designed to be completely hassle-free.
If you are adding warm drinks to your ice, you will see reductions in the overall length of time your ice will stay cold. So, I have to say that I was really surprised Ozark Trail Camping Chairs with how this test turned out. You can see from the images below that there was consistent ice melt, however two of the three were better performing.
