I still would not recommend it in extended rainfall or during storms. Pyramid-style tents, which have considerable overlap with the teepee, are widely considered some of the most stable in high-wind conditions. The same can’t be said for the Ozark Trail 7 ozark tent Person Teepee. Foregoing the central pole in favor of the braced design, along with the considerable surface area of the sides, makes it much more prone to failure during severe weather. To clear the air immediately, the 7 Person Teepee is not waterproof.
Just returned from a 4-day glamping trip where we used this tent for the first time. This tent is solid it stood up to 35mph winds and rain and no leaks. You want to make sure that the treatment you’re using is compatible with the materials your tent is made of, but that’s more important for the seams. Keep in mind that a DWR coating will likely decrease your tent’s breathability, but that’s not as important as keeping out the water.
In particular, we like how the Ozark Trail 11 person instant cabin tent provides a large amount of space, privacy, and weather protection. And not only that, but it also goes up in a matter of minutes, do to the instant design. For your next family camping trip, you’ll be hard pressed to find something better for the price.
Nobody wants to spend all day sitting in direct sunlight either though, and that’s where a tent with a screen room like this Ozark Trail 9 Person Cabin comes into play. The Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin takes our top spot as the best Ozark Trail tent. With room for 12 and nearly seven-foot ceilings, it checks all our boxes for a big family tent, but even as cabin shelters go, this one is special. Overall, it’s a well-designed tent with many convenient features for those who want to get out and enjoy nature. Get it while it’s marked down from $170 to $99 at Walmart.
Tents can be quite the investment, but one of the great things about camping is that (within reason) you can spend as much or as little as you like. And if you’re on a budget, that’s where Ozark Trail tents come into play. Drape the rain fly over the tent so that the side with the pole sleeve is pointed down against the tent. Flex the ridge pole and secure each end by slipping it into a grommet that is built into the rain fly. Instant tents are typically larger and heavier than comparable traditional tents.
You could fit 7 sleeping bags, but not 7 bodies and their accessories. For families, I think approximately two adults and three kids is about as much as you would want at one ozark trail tent time, and even that might be pushing it. The first thing to cover when talking about Ozark Trail’s Teepee is the internal space, which is a big draw to any tent in this style.
