The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board

There are plenty of more powerful and more expensive grills out there. If you were thinking of a pricier model, consider putting that extra money toward a pair of rattan rockers. From your new perch, you may realize that the Weber E-330 is a near-perfect basic grill that, with a side burner and the sear burner, gets a turbo boost, Volvo style. A harder and faster sear weber bbq would be welcome, as would more control over the sear burner’s heat, which is essentially on/off. A little compartment for wood chips and chunks that could slide in next to the left burner would be grand for creating a bit of smoky goodness. Not to sound ungrateful, but the logistics of shipping the grills and smokers I review are almost always a pain in the butt.

Newly redesigned for 2022, this propane grill offers a large 787 square inches of cooking space. It also boasts three main burners rated at 39,000 BTU, a 13,000 BTU sear burner and a 12,000 BTU side burner. We’ve long recommended Weber’s charcoal kettle grill to anyone looking for a phenomenal cooker at a reasonable price point. But our recent gas grill testing proved Weber is a powerhouse in that department, too (four out of six of our winners in our gas grill test were Webers). If you’re looking to buy on a budget, and/or favor a smoky flavor and scent while grilling, consider Weber’s charcoal grill options. If efficiency is on your list of grilling must-haves, consider a gas grill, which takes less time to heat up.

The Weber Spirit SX-315 Smart Grill is the smart version of our top pick, the Weber Spirit II E-310. The two models have the same bones—the same burners, side tables, and overall dimensions. The Spirit SX-315 connects to Wi-Fi and lets you monitor the meat probe through an app.

Goldwyn suggests 225 or (less often) 325 degrees Fahrenheit for the indirect zone. Using the zones instead of cooking over a flame the whole time brings your chances of success way up. We’ve determined that a three-burner grill is large enough for most needs, with plenty of space to cook for a family dinner or a backyard barbecue. Grills with more burners are usually overkill, and two-burner grills can feel cramped. Weber added two new models to its Spirit line of gas grills in 2020, but we ultimately chose not to test them.

The porcelain coating prevents food from sticking, so the grates don’t need seasoning. Only very old models of Weber grills would require seasoning, and because they are very old, that surely happened a long time ago. If you purchase a new Weber grill, you don’t need to worry about seasoning it. Weber’s Genesis line offers high-quality grills without super-premium prices, and its EX-325S is designed for easy grilling so you can enjoy each and every party.

It also puts out more heat per square inch than our top pick, thanks to a fourth burner—placed between the middle and right-side burners—that creates what Weber dubs the Sear Zone. The Genesis E-325s also has weber gas grill roomier side tables, including one big enough to fit a half sheet pan. With more heat per square inch and a larger grilling area than our top pick offers, this model is our top choice for dedicated grillers.
