This vacuum is definitely better for cleaning smaller spaces, especially since the battery needs to be fully charged before each use. It includes a small brush head for cleaning upholstery or stairs, and features LED lights on the front of the main and crevice tools for hard-to-spot hairballs. The ICONPet performs best on hard flooring and low-pile carpets, offering a price in line with its value. Apart from being a strong performer in our pet hair tests, the A11 Hero was near bissell handheld vacuum flawless on hardwood floors, vacuuming up 97% of sand and 98% of black rice. It finished just outside the top 5 on low-pile carpet, removing a respectable 83% of sand and a near-perfect 99% of black rice — and every vacuum that did better in that test costs hundreds more. With all of those extra fibers for dirt to cling to, mid-pile carpet was more of a struggle, as the A11 Hero’s sand score fell to 73%, but it still nailed the black rice test, sucking up 98% of the stuff.
Designed for hard flooring, it shines a green laser out onto the floor as you clean, making it easy to see dust and other small bits of debris otherwise hard to spot with the naked eye. It isn’t much help under strong indoor lighting or sunlight, but it’s still a nice, unique feature that we found helpful as we cleaned. Also interesting is the readout on the back of the vacuum, which lists the ratio of dirt collected by particle size. Our picks for the best cordless vacuums are listed below — and keep checking back, because we’ll update this list periodically whenever new models make their way through our lab.
The foundation aims to help reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues by finding them homes via grants, adoption events, a spay and neuter program, and more. You can lean it against a corner wall and it will stay up that way. We do that fairly often here if we aren’t finished vacuuming but just need to move an item out of the way. Otherwise, if the job is done, its inability to stand on its own is a good reminder for my kids to put it away and plug it in to start recharging. The attachments are all very sturdy, well made, and don’t appear likely to break.
While it didn’t live up to my expectations on the carpet, this cordless vacuum is perfect for hardwood and area rugs. The Bissell AirRam scores great in the convenience category with a weight of less than eight pounds. It also boasts 40 minutes of battery life, and has a collapsible handle for easy storage. This cordless vacuum even has LED headlights to illuminate any dirt or bissell handheld vacuum debris on the floor, and can be angled to pick up dirt in nearly any corner. Interestingly, that shortlist of perfect-rated cleaners includes two of our value picks, the Shark Rocket Pet Pro and the Moosoo XL-618. Neither one was a standout with sand (in fact, the Moosoo model was among the worst in those tests), but with larger crumbs at least, both are perfectly capable.
Bissell has been serving American homes for decades with their extensive lineup of affordable cleaning products. Bissell cordless vacuum is dependable and has long been a fan-favorite for on-the-go individuals. But one problem with Bissell vacuum catalog is the sheer number of models available. Because there are so many options on the market, it can be hard to determine which models are cordless, which are discontinued, and of course, which would be best for your specific needs.
All of the cordless vacuums we tested were between 4 and 7 pounds, but none was so heavy that it affected our recommendation. All of the vacuums on this list were also very similar in height and overall size. The Dyson models are both roughly 49 inches, while the Tineco A11 is shorter at just 43 inches tall. To simulate small particle size, we use a mix of play sand and landscaping sand.
Run TimeTo test battery life, we run the cordless vacs on high and then again on low until the battery is depleted, then we note the times. If the vacuum has a medium setting (not every vacuum does), we test that too. For Pet HairWe embed 1 gram of Maine coon cat hair in a medium-pile carpet and then see how many strokes it takes to remove it, with a maximum of five. We note the number of strokes and see how much fur, if any, is left behind on the carpet or in the brush roll. As their capabilities have increased, so has the toughness of our tests. Portability
If you have stairs, you know what a pain (literally) it can be lugging a vacuum up and down.
They offer a diverse selection of vacuum cleaners, ranging from compact handheld cordless vacuums to bulky corded uprights and everything in between. Most of their offerings are somewhat budget-friendly and use bagless designs, meaning that recurring costs tend to be pretty low. That said, quite a few of their more compact offerings struggle with clearing bulky debris, while their bigger corded uprights generally feel somewhat cheap. Get in all those hard-to-reach places that probably haven’t seen a good clean in longer than you’d like to admit with this handheld vacuum.
