Every time we put some faith in these tents we got let down. My fiance and I spend a lot of time camping. Not sure what season our tents were but, we had to get 4 of them. I have pitched the tent twice in my back yard and found that I could pitch it by myself in about one hour.
Many newer tent brands like EZ-Up use revolutionary thumb lock sliders or larger easy to release buttons, which are a much better user experience when setting the canopy up or taking it down. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The legs extend to give the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath.
It was a little challenging putting it up the first time but still took about 10 minutes. The frame seems very sturdy and the top is a decent thickness. Bought to use the 4-person connected and figured it’d be better to do a 10’x20′ canopy instead of 2 10’x10′ canopies. The height of the inside leaves you in awe of the amount of room that’s under the roof. My son is 6’2″ and standing on his tippy toes can barely touch the center of the frame at the lowest height.
We have never been able to sleep in it and makes a poor storage room. I am 67 yrs old and have used Ozark Trail tents for years, but this covered screen dome turned out NOT TO BE A TENT. I would not even think of unloading it on my worst enemy. I ozark trail canopy purchased this tent to take to music festivals and such, because it is like a small house. However, for its second trip it just fell apart. One day into a 3-day festival, I returned to camp to find both of the large poles snapped right in two.
It sticks to the classics, with a very traditional design that works. There may not be many bells and whistles, but we ozark trail wall tent don’t think it’s necessary here. There is no information about a waterproof column, so it doesn’t seem waterproof.
At least it is easy to clean and provides bug protection. They claim they are weather tested, but I feel they don’t include rain or wind as elements of the weather. I could make a better shelter out of cardboard boxes and scotchgard. Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping. The new Simple Push technology allows this canopy to be set up with ease in just 60 seconds. One person can use the Simple Push handle to extend the canopy so it is ready for use.
It’s height-adjustable and sets up and disassembles in just minutes, so it can be put to use quickly or taken down in a hurry. The outdoor instant canopy packs away nicely into a storage bag for easy transport when finished using it for the day. It can be stored in the garage, trunk or in a closet until needed and is lightweight so it can be taken along during travel or up and down steps with ease.
However, due to the polyester fabric, it is water resistant. This means it can repel a very small amount of rainfall, like light precipitation. We suggest you don’t leave it outside if you know it’s going to rain. There doesn’t seem to be any information on the thickness level of the polyester, but this Ozark Trail Canopy model does have a 50+ UV protection rating. This is very important for gazebos, considering their principal purpose is to shield from the sun. In terms of being waterproof, we think it’s more so water repellent.
For casual outings as well as possible commercial use or for tailgating, this is a fantastic and trusted choice. With bonus stakes, guylines, and a wheeled carry bag, you’re certainly getting value for your money. As well as plenty of room on the ground, the height is tall and allows even the tallest in your family or friends to stand up everywhere, not just at the peak.
