If you have a Phillips-head screwdriver and a can-do attitude, you’ll be able to set up the Weber Q 2200 Grill in a matter of minutes. After pulling the grill and its pieces out of the box, I attached the lid using the included pins and screwed on the grill’s handle and thermometer. The control valve and ignition button simply slip into place, and the ignition even comes with the necessary AAA battery. Once that’s done, all that’s left to do is place the grates on the grill and slide the catch pan into place. Overall, you will find Q2000 to be as durable, sturdy, tough, and easy to maintain as the previous models.

It isn’t just about the features and how well the grill works – just take a look at the quality of the components. Weber grills are known as being some of the best but how does the Q 2200 hold up?
With removable catch pans, you can clean the grease quite easily. As with all Weber BBQ grills, intelligent design coupled with quality construction produces an attractive cooker that works great. The heavy cast aluminum housing holds and distributes heat while the cast iron grates can do a decent job of searing. In 2014 Weber split the cooking grate to accommodate an optional cast on griddle on one side.
I have to say that I didn’t expect the Q 2200 to function and perform as well as it did. From putting it together to actually using the grill, it has been a weber genesis 2 wonderful experience all around. And, while I will be using my whole grills for heavy duty grilling and smoking, this has earned its spot in my collection.
The lids have built-in thermometers to monitor how hot the grill gets so you know when it’s ready for searing steaks or if you are trying to keep the temperature a bit lower. The Weber Q 320′s cooking performance is good too, easily taking under 9-10 minutes to cook a burger patty, regardless of where it was placed on the grill plate. Beware, however, that the body temperature does go up considerably more so it’s worth taking care around it when cooking. Naturally, the Weber Q 2200 is meant to be portable, so its small cooking space isn’t too surprising.
