Depending on how well your helper is sealing the opening with their hand this should stop most or all of the water from draining out. Install the new vent into the top of the bulkhead and the new valve. Make sure that the new valve is closed because you’ll want it to stop the water as soon as you get the new bulkhead installed.

To test the pool’s resilience, we let a line of rambunctious kids hop in and out and back in again, day after day. The paper instructions were plenty sufficient to get the job done, and it took less than half an hour from start to finish. This pool arrived on our doorstep in one large box, which contained everything we needed to get started.
