We’re retesting our picks against newer models—including Braun Series 8 shavers—and will update this guide with our findings. With our shavers, you can go for a comfortable dry shave or a refreshing wet shave. The new shavers with SenseIQ technology are equipped with advanced sensors that read and adapt to you.

Over a two-month period, each electric shaver was tested on its ability to remove hair quickly, comfortably, and with the least amount of shaving irritation. I also felt it was important to test how well they performed in multiple shaving scenarios—dry face, wet face, and when using shaving cream. The Braun Series 7 offers solid, smooth performance wrapped up in a comfortable-to-hold exterior. Its shaving system comes equipped with 3 blades on a 360-degree adaptive head that manages the contours of the face very well. The hexagonal holes within the foil guard used to capture and cut each hair can at times miss thicker hairs or ones that lay closer to the skin. However, it did perform slightly better with these hair types when using shaving cream.

Some of the other razors I tested include more attachments, such as an eyebrow groomer. (I don’t trust myself to get near my eyebrows with a razor.) Most options come with a bikini trimmer for detailing and manicuring body hair—in fact, that might be your primary reason for wanting one of these tools. The Philips razor comes with a 1-inch-wide bikini trimmer to use on its own to completely remove hair or to top with a comb to trim it to 0.125 inches long, something you might prefer if you’re prepping for waxing.

Unlike any of the other electric razors I tested, it has a quick-charge mode. Plug it in for five minutes, and you’ll get extra battery life—in my tests, 11 minutes’ worth. The F has the look of a Braun clone and uses philips shaver a proven dual-foil system with a center lift-and-cut trimmer mated to a pivoting head. But unlike the Braun Series 7 foil block, which pivots along two axes, this less-expensive shaver pivots only up and down.

The 9500 comes with a Quick Clean Pod that makes post-shave cleanup a breeze. Simply place the shaver into the pod and the cleaning solution inside will clean and lubricate the 9500’s blades, ensuring that it’s ready for the next time you need a shave. The Pod’s cleaning solution needs philips razor to be replaced on a regular basis, but the 9500’s shaving heads can also be rinsed off under a running faucet. When you shave, you want a close, smooth shave in as little time as possible. Buying a quality electric shaver that’s right for your shaving needs accomplishes this task.

Rinse your razor under water to remove hair and dirt, then take a light brush to your foil to remove any gunk buildup. It’s important to maintain the foil on your razor, as that is what helps give you a nice and even shave. If your foil gets dented or damaged, make sure to replace it immediately as that piece is the proverbial bread and butter to your shave.

The precision trimmer located just behind the head, outperformed many of the shavers in this guide, making facial hair maintenance a breeze. After an hour’s worth of charging, the Lifeproof can run for 90 minutes. If you’re in need of a quick shave and forgot to charge it, a five-minute charge provides just enough runtime for a single shave. Flexible shaving philips razor heads are also important in an electric shaver for men because the face has many contours and angles. MultiHeadLock is another convenient feature that gives you the ability to adjust the shaver’s angle for addressing difficult areas. Once this Philips razor is completely powered up, you can groom for nearly an hour and a half before the battery dies.
