According to Dyson, most other robot vacuums use “weak, inefficient motors” in order to conserve battery life. British engineering company Dyson has announced its first robot vacuum cleaner at an event in Tokyo. Finding empty floor space for the dock, downloading the app, and connecting to WiFi are the extent of setup. The app will grab your WiFi password and then ask you to connect your phone to a WiFi name specifically for the vacuum.
The 360 Eye will also pick up these items; however, it’s collection bin sensor is very sensitive. One long piece of straw can trigger the sensor into thinking the bin is full. You can always tuck your bed skirt up until the cleaning is done, provided there is enough light to maneuver under your bed.
Dyson also says the tech allows it to make lightweight vacuums. The “360” part suggests that the robot will follow in the 360 Eye’s rolling brush-steps by carrying a 360-degree vision system. The 360 Eye has a small camera on top and sensors on the sides.
On your first clean in a new room, simply set it off on Auto and this robot vacuum will map your room—taking note of any obstacles it will need to navigate and adjusting accordingly. Eufy does warn against carpet tassels and other loose items so be sure to get the floor relatively tidy beforehand. The different features on the app make it a nice vacuum and an excellent way to keep your house clean. Although purchasing a robotic vacuum cleaner doesn’t mean you won’t need to do manual vacuuming again, you expect it to perform an excellent job.
The motor in the Roomba 890 is the same motor that is in the Roomba 960. Also, the 890 has the same runtime as the Roomba 690 (approximately 60 minutes). In addition to improved navigation, the Roomba 980 also features a stronger motor with a longer run time.
